Who We Are

Roxa Development Institute (RDI) is a social enterprise committed to supporting vulnerable communities through trauma recovery, transition, and reintegration. Originally founded as the Veterans Stand Together Association in 2019, our work began with supporting military Veterans through trauma recovery and transition to civilian life. Over time, our mission expanded to include Refugee populations, particularly qualified Afghan Refugees, fleeing conflict and seeking stability in Canada.

A group of protesters holding signs and banners, gathered on the steps of a building with classical architecture, listening to a speaker in a suit, with trees and tall buildings in the background.

Today, we support both Veterans and Refugees through trauma-informed counselling, transition assistance, housing support, education and employment. At the heart of RDI is a commitment to helping people rebuild their lives with purpose.

Our Purpose and Vision

Mandate

RDI is committed to delivering comprehensive support services that promote the settlement, transition, and long-term wellbeing of Veterans, Refugees, and marginalized populations. Rooted in compassion and community, we are dedicated to helping individuals rebuild their lives and thrive in Canada’s inclusive society.

Mission

Through trauma-informed counselling, practical skills training, and employment-focused support, RDI helps Refugees, Veterans, and marginalized populations navigate complex transitions and build stable, purposeful futures.

Vision

A society where all people affected by conflict and displacement are welcomed, supported, and empowered to succeed.

Our History

Roxa Development Institute (RDI) began in 2019 as the Veterans Stand Together Association, founded in British Columbia with a mission to support the transition and mental health of Canadian Veterans.

In response to growing global needs for trauma-informed support, RDI expanded its mandate to include Refugee resettlement and international development, recognizing the shared experiences of Veterans and Refugees affected by conflict and displacement.

Today, RDI is a multidisciplinary organization operating both nationally and internationally. We provide trauma-informed counselling, transition support, and skills-based programs that help people move forward with confidence and purpose.

What We Aim To Achieve

  • We offer trauma-informed psychological counselling, both one-on-one and in groups, to support mental health, emotional resilience, and the recovery process for individuals and families navigating complex transitions. Our training programs also equip practitioners with culturally responsive counselling techniques that address the unique challenges faced by Veterans, Refugees, and conflict-affected populations.
